The Market Hotel in Brooklyn was packed full, with the audience singing along, and the band got great reviews in the music press. The Apple Bonkers opened for Drugdealer on April 19, 2019.
***The Apple Bonkers (a local psych cover band with a radiating stage presence and a great setlist of classics)***, ListenSD.com
The Apple Bonkers—an intriguing name for an equally intriguing collective of musicians. Specializing in classic rock covers and some pretty excellent showmanship, these fellas served up a selection from the likes of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, The Mamas & The Papas, ELO, Fleetwood Mac, and even threw in some Gnarls Barkley. Real crowd pleasers all in all, setting the tone with some serious goof and pure joy. Everyone was groovin’.**
The Family Reviews
I saw the Apple Bonkers entertain and instantly knew that they would be an big hit at the Nursing and Rehabilitation Center I work for, even though it was a big change of style from our norm. I was thrilled that they agreed to come out to Long Island to entertain. My clients range in age from the mid 50’s to over 100. Despite the higher ages of the audience, they do not wish to be lulled to sleep with music of the 40’s and even 50’s, much of the time. They want to rock it out. Like anyone else, they love to dance, sing and get totally caught up in the music. As the night went on the momentum grew and the band drew them in, with their music and personal touches. We didn’t want the evening to end. Since then, all I hear is “When will they be back”, both from residents, family members and the many staff who jumped in and joined in . We never had such a great evening and hope to do it again soon. They are an array of musicians who work together to bring life and great sound to all. I don’t know how they did it, but it’s a winning combination. Hope to see you soon “Apple Bonkers”.
Maggie and her group have been a part of the TD Five Boro Bike tour for three years now and never let us down. They are flexible with changes, easy to work with and super reliable. Their wide array of classic rock cover really connect with our diverse range of participants. We have really enjoyed working with them and look forward to their return in 2019. I highly recommend them for any event.
